For all of those people in Brisbane who don’t want to use the city bikes because they don’t want to carry helmets around, the wait is finally over……. The inflatable bike helmet, that only inflates on impact, is here!!! Thats right, if you crash, you too can look this hot!
The helmet was designed by Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin as a thesis project at university. When not deployed, the inflatable helmet looks, at worst, like a slightly-odd but still fashionable collar. The collar’s cover can be removed, washed and switched out for other colors, letting appearance-conscious cyclists match their protective gear to that day’s outfit. Accessorising has never been so fun and now there’s no excuse for not using the city bikes Brisbanites!
